What is Qi Men Dun Jia?
Qi Men Dun Jia (奇门遁甲) is regarded as one of the most sophisticated predictive and decision-making systems in Chinese metaphysics. Traditionally associated with military strategy, it was used to choose the moment and direction for action. Today it is used for travel, negotiations, business planning and other choices where timing and direction matter.
Its name refers to its components: the “Qi” are the three wonders (the stems Yi, Bing and Ding), the “Men” are the Eight Gates, and “Dun Jia” refers to hiding the leading stem Jia among the other six.
How a Qi Men chart is built
A Qi Men chart uses the Nine Palaces of the Luo Shu as its spatial framework, each palace corresponding to a direction. For the chosen moment, the chart lays out the Heavenly Stems on the earth and heaven plates, then places the Eight Gates (such as Open, Rest and Life), the Nine Stars and the Eight Gods into the palaces.
The arrangement depends on the solar term and on whether the period follows the Yang or Yin sequence, which is why the charts change through the year. Reading the combinations in each palace shows which directions carry supportive energy for a particular aim and which are best avoided. One Breath uses this framework to recommend auspicious directions for travel, negotiation and decisions.

Why One Breath
Unlike a generic AI chatbot, One Breath uses retrieval-augmented generation: before each reading it searches 20,020 passages from 38 classical texts for the material most relevant to your question, and the AI then combines that classical knowledge with your own details. Every classical text cited in your reading is shown by name, so the analysis can be traced back to its sources.
All One Breath features are currently free, with daily usage limits; detailed paid reports will be added later. The site works in English and Chinese, on desktop and mobile, with nothing to install.
